The Board of Education approved two retirements and one resignation during its December Board meeting.
With all members present, the Board unanimously approved accepting a letter of intent to retire from Amy Davis, Board of Education chief school financial officer. Her retirement will be effective July 1.
The Board also unanimously approved a letter of intent to retire from Marty Adams, maintenance supervisor, which will be effective Sunday, March 1.
Regarding the resignation, the Board unanimously approved a letter of resignation from Deanna Blake, paraprofessional. That was effective December 31.
In other business, Superintendent of Education David Stover recommended approval of a contract with psychometrist Pat Edmondson at a rate of $150 per test plus mileage at 70 cents per mile. This will be for evaluations and re-evaluations of referred students within the school system as assigned by the Special Education Department from January 1 through December 31, 2026.
The recommendation was unanimously approved.
The Board held its monthly meeting for February yesterday, at which time last month’s minutes were expected to be approved. Names of some individuals on the agenda are not released until minutes are approved at the following month’s meeting.
Following yesterday’s meeting, the next regularly scheduled monthly meeting of the Coosa County Board of Education will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, March 26.
