Let’s start the new year off with biblical truth. This is my belief and not forcing it on anyone else. Read for yourselves.
First, there is one God, with the capital “G;” one kind of real true “love;” and one kind of human, human beings, people, that if you can relate. If not, skip this column and research.
I enjoy reading the Word and reading the Church of God’s “Evangel” magazine, which also carries the Word, and understanding and living in the spirit. God is a spirit, and we cannot do anything without Him.
Some people ask me questions about my beliefs on names of churches, titles, etc. I tell them what I have learned and take them to the Bible to see for themselves.
Some people make their own churches and titles, and they say they read and believe the Bible! In my studying of the Bible, I learned these things. Names of churches given in scripture: Number one, The Church of God (I Corinthians 1:2, Acts 20:28); number two, Church of the Living God (I Timothy 3:15); number three, Church of the First Born (Hebrews 12:23); and number four, Church of Christ (Romans 16:16).
These church names are those that the Bible used to identify the churches that Jesus built and to show His ownership of it. If a church has any other name then it is going contrary to scriptures. If a church has a man’s name then they are actually saying that that man is the owner of that church and he died for that church. Who do we believe, man or God?
Happy New Year, everybody! Let’s start the year out believing and trusting God, not me and not man.
Happy birthday to all January babies and late December babies.
Happy birthday to Tim Taylor. Butch and I love you much.
Praying for all churches to begin the year with more faith and hope.
“Believing more than we see”
The word for the year is “faith.” “Faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” – Hebrews 11:1
