Happy Thanksgiving to everybody. What are you thankful for?
This is my “Thanksgiving.” I thank God I can see, hear and speak. I can walk, move around and do things for myself. I ate today, yesterday and days last week.
I made phone calls, turned on a light, stuck a key in a door and a car, and I have a place to sleep. I have clothes to wear and lungs functioning. I can breathe without assistance; move my hands, arms and legs; and do the things I want to do.
I receive love from someone I know who will be there, no matter what I have done. I can laugh when I want to cry and cry if I want to. My mind lets me know the difference between the two.
I can touch a tree, a flower that I can smell. I give thanks to every blessing and remind myself that I am truly blessed.
I give thanks for the privileges and pleasures of being alive and being me. I thank God. He is the supplier of my every need, and I bless His Holy Name.
Life is much more than all the “Thanksgiving” food. The Word of God is more important than anything else. Having plenty of food isn’t the ultimate goal of life; knowing ad loving and thanking the Lord is.
Our hearts, minds and souls reach out to the Veitch family and friends in the passing of Kaylee Veitch. I am lost for words, but a more better understanding of life and who God really is.
Nineteen years of life was her finish here on earth, and it’s hard for so many of us. A couple of weeks ago she said to Pastor Hill that she just wanted more of God and was about to be baptized on the Sunday, the day of her home-going.
We are hurting, but we know God is in control of every situation. We just have to trust Him for our peace. He is the only one who can give us that real peace, and God, we need it now!
However, God is still blessing us. Have a happy, peaceful Thanksgiving.
“Our attitude about who we are and what we have is a very little thing that makes a very big difference.”
