Special to the News

Every year Coosa County Schools Homecoming photo shoot takes place at a historic site in Coosa County.

This year’s Homecoming photo shoot took place at the Old Rock Jail in the county seat of Rockford. The Old Rock Jail is on the National Register of Historic Places as the oldest stone jail in Alabama, dating back to 1825.

The Coosa County Historical Society operates the jail as a museum. The inside of the jail; which includes exhibits on the history of the jail, as well as information on famous inmates; can currently be visited on Sundays from 2-4 p.m.

Thank you to the Coosa County Historical Society for allowing us to use their beautiful stone facility as a backdrop for our Homecoming photo shoot.
