On Friday, September 19, the Alabama Department of Corrections (ADOC) Narcotics Unit served warrants on Monica Bishop and Emoni Bishop in Gadsden. Both suspects were arrested and transported to the Madison County Jail.
Monica Bishop was charged with unlawful distribution of a controlled substance. Emoni Bishop was charged with unlawful distribution/furnishing controlled substances and trafficking fentanyl.
These arrests are the result of an ongoing investigation during which Monica Bishop was arrested on July 11 and charged with trafficking methamphetamine, first-degree promoting prison contraband, first-degree possession of marijuana, and unlawful distribution of a controlled substance.
The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be pending.
