Rep. Ben Robbins presents a check to Shirley Thompson, librarian at Goodwater Public Library.
Special to the News
Rep. Ben Robbins made a special visit recently to the Goodwater Public Library and presented the library with a $5,000 check.
Goodwater librarian Shirley Thompson said, “We are so grateful for all he does for the library.”
While it has not yet been determined how this year’s funds will be spent, Thompson said that Robbins gave the same amount to the library last year.
Last year’s donation was used to purchase a Kyocera TASKalfa MZ3200i. It makes copies, faxes, scans, and emails. Patrons can connect to it by their phone and print.
“We and our patrons love our new printer-plus,” Thompson said.
Additionally, the library purchased 75 oversize economy book supports with rubber bases, laminate vinyl matte, poly-shield label protectors, books, and DVDs.
Thank you, Rep. Robbins, for your continued support of the library, a vital asset to the community.
