The Coosa County Sheriff’s Office recently made two unrelated arrests for outstanding warrants for failure to appear, or FTA.
Chief Deputy Scott Hammond reported that on January 27, Deputy Dawson went to Talladega County Jail to pick up an individual on a warrant from Coosa County.
Robin Shaylin Speaks; 42 years old, of Sylacauga; was arrested the same day and charged with FTA for first-degree theft of property. Her bond was set at $1,000, and she was released on bond January 30 to await trial.
On February 6, a probation officer brought 38-year-old Robert Octavious Barber, of Sylacauga, to the Sheriff’s Office to be arrested on an outstanding warrant for FTA on possession of a controlled substance.
Barber had a cash bond of $300, and he was released on bond the same day to await trial.
Anyone who observes or suspects illegal activity is encouraged to report it to the Coosa County Sheriff’s Office at 256-377-4922 or online at www.coosacountyso.org. Anonymous tips are also welcome.
