A burglary call resulted in three arrests, each facing four charges, including individuals from Coosa County and one from Tallapoosa County.
On December 26, Deputy Payton responded to a call in the Kellyton area for a burglary in progress. The caller advised him of the vehicle the suspect was driving. The individual further reported that three people ran out of the back of the residence, with two going towards the vehicle and one going toward the woods.
Upon his arrival, Payton came upon two of the individuals, and a foot pursuit ensued. One of the suspects was caught before making it back to the vehicle.
The driver got out of the vehicle and was also apprehended. The third individual came out of the woods and gave himself up, according to Chief Deputy Scott Hammond.
Ultimately, the case resulted in the arrests of 32-year-old Timothy John Bolan of Coosa County, 32-year-old Michelle Lynn Nelson of Coosa County and 43-year-old Robert Lee Atkinson II of Jackson’s Gap.
All three were arrested the same day. Each of them were arrested on four charges, including possession of burglary tools, third-degree burglary, fourth-degree theft of property, and attempting to elude law enforcement officers.
Total bond for each of them was set at $25,000 for all four charges. As of press time all three remained in custody at the Coosa County Jail awaiting trial.
Anyone who suspects or observes illegal activity is encouraged to report it to the Coosa County Sheriff’s Office at 256-377-4922 or online at www.coosacountyso.org. Anonymous tips are also welcome.
