On Tuesday, January 14, officers with the Metro Area Crime Suppression (MACS) Unit apprehended three individuals for second-degree robbery.
While patrolling, officers with the MACS Unit observed three individuals conducting reconnaissance in order to rob a business located in the 400 block of East South Boulevard in Montgomery.
As the officers approached, the suspects fled. After a foot pursuit, all three suspects were apprehended.
All three suspects were identified as juveniles. Two were 13 years old, and the third was 14 years old.
One of the 13-year-olds was recognized by officers on scene from a law enforcement bulletin issued by CrimeStoppers regarding the same business being robbed in a previous incident.
All suspects confessed to their involvement and have been charged with second-degree robbery. Because of their ages, they were released into the custody of their guardians.
The MACS Unit remains committed to ensuring the safety of our local communities and will
continue to conduct operations aimed at preventing and reducing crimes.
