Goodwater man killed in Coosa crash

A Goodwater man was killed in a single-vehicle crash Sunday morning in the Stewartville community.

The crash occurred at approximately 2:19 a.m. January 5, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Brian Austin Combest, 28 years old, was fatally injured when the 2017 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck he was driving left the roadway and struck several trees. ALEA reported that Combest was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash occurred on County Road 70 near County Road 41 in the Stewartville community, approximately seven miles south of Sylacauga.

Nothing further is available regarding the wreck as troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.

A native of Sylacauga, Combest lived much of his life in Coosa County. He was a former student of Central High School Coosa County and attended Emerge Church in Goodwater.
