A Coosa County inmate has been arrested on an additional charge relating to contraband.
On Monday, December 16, deputies Payton and Dawson conducted a cell search after detecting the odor of smoke.
They found contraband in an inmate’s cell, ultimately leading to the arrest of 59-year-old Delma Carlton Silmon Sr. of Goodwater. He was charged with third-degree promoting prison contraband.
Silmon’s bond for his most recent charge was set at $2,000. As of press time he remained in custody at the Coosa County Jail awaiting trial.
