A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 1:30 a.m. Friday, December 6, has claimed the life of a Phenix City man.
Antonio Ivarra, 39, was fatally injured when the 2007 Scion TC he was driving collided head-on with the 2021 Honda Pilot driven by a 16-year-old juvenile from Montgomery. Ivarra was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash, was ejected and pronounced deceased at the scene.
Luis B. Reyes, 29, of Auburn, who was a passenger in the Scion, was also injured and transported to Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery for treatment. The 16-year-old driver of the Pilot was also injured and transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.
The crash occurred on Alabama Highay 126 near the 2-mile marker, approximately one mile east of Montgomery, in Montgomery County.
Nothing further is available as troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
