A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 11:05 p.m. Friday, September 27, has claimed the life of a Sylacauga man.
James T. Trussell, 36, was fatally injured when the 2004 Sterling LT9522 concrete mixer he was driving left the roadway, struck a metal post and re-entered the roadway before overturning. Trussell was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The crash occurred on Alabama Highway 76 near the 12-mile marker, approximately five miles northeast of Childersburg, in Talladega County.
Nothing further is available as troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
