A Goodwater man and an Alexander City woman were arrested last Saturday on multiple drug-related charges while deputies were attempting to serve warrants.
Chief Deputy Scott Hammond reported that on September 7, while on patrol attempting to locate a vehicle containing an individual with outstanding warrants, Deputy Dawson came into contact with the vehicle on Alabama Highway 9 and initiated a traffic stop.
Dawson and Deputy Payton proceded to confirm that the driver was who they were looking for. There were two individuals in the vehicle, and both were asked to step out.
They were detained and frisked as a safety precaution, and the outstanding warrants were confirmed.
While inventorying the vehicle for impound, a brown pill identied as amphetamine was found in the vehicle, as well as 0.17 grams of a green leafy substance appearing to be marijuana and 0.02 grams of a clear crystal-like substance that field tested positive for crystal methamphetamine.
Associated drug paraphernalia was also found in the vehicle.
The driver, 37-year-old Letravious Rodrigus Fuller of Goodwater, was arrested for first-degree possession of marijuana, possession of synthetic urine and possession of drug paraphernalia. His marijuana possession was escalated to a first-degree charge because of a prior conviction.
The passenger, 30-year-old Deanna Nicole Monroe of Dadeville, was also arrested. She was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance, first-degree possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Fuller’s total bond for his three charges was set at $10,000, and Monroe’s total bond for all four of her charges was set at $17,500. As of press time both remained in custody at the Coosa County Jail awaiting trial.
