Coosa County recorded Alabama’s largest wage increase, with average weekly wages rising by $203 from Q4 2024 to Q4 2025

A new study by DPHK Consulting has identified Coosa County as the Alabama county with the largest wage increase, after its average weekly wage rose by $203 from fourth quarter 2024 to fourth quarter 2025.
The business services firm reviewed “County Employment and Wages in Alabama” releases from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, including the latest release published on June 9, 2026, and ranked Alabama counties by dollar change in average weekly wages between Q4 2024 and Q4 2025.
Coosa County posted the largest increase among Alabama counties, with average weekly wages rising by $203.
Fayette County followed with a $163 increase, while Washington County ranked third with a $111 increase.
Across Alabama, the statewide average weekly wage rose by $46, from $1,255 in Q4 2024 to $1,301 in Q4 2025.
“Coosa County’s $203 increase shows where wage gains were largest in Alabama between Q4 2024 and Q4 2025,” said a DPHK Consulting spokesperson. “The full ranking also highlights how localized wage gains can be: several counties posted increases well above the statewide gain, while a number of counties saw average weekly wages decline over the same comparison.”
Alabama Counties with the Largest Wage Increases
Methodology: Counties were ranked by dollar change in average weekly wage between Q4 2024 and Q4 2025 using Table 2 from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics’ “County Employment and Wages in Alabama” releases. Dollar change was calculated as: Q4 2025 average weekly wage minus Q4 2024 average weekly wage.
