Attorney General Steve Marshall issued a statement following Alabama’s Republican primary, saying:
“Last night concluded months of a hard fought campaign that fell just short. I am immensely grateful to my wife, Tammy; our family; our volunteers; the campaign staff; and all of the voters across the state who put their faith in me to be Alabama’s next U.S. senator. It was truly an honor to have your backing.
“Although I’m disappointed in the outcome, I’m proud of what this campaign stood for: strong Christian values and true conservative principles. I look forward to continuing my work as attorney general, building on my proven track record and delivering real wins for the people of Alabama.”
