The Weogufka community’s Mule Day returns this year, and guests can enjoy the festivities next Saturday at the Weogufka Center.
Mule Day will be held from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. on the grounds of the old Weogufka School. The day will be a family-friendly event featuring mules, music, fried apple pies, food, a cake auction, arts and crafts, many vendors, a car show, and more. There will also be a Children’s Farm Center for youth to enjoy during the day.
Live music will be provided by Randy Glenn and Peppy, who will return to the stage at the amphitheater for Mule Day, with their musical entertainment beginning at 9 a.m. Guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs, relax and enjoy the music during the event.
Sausage biscuits will be sold ahead of the event, starting at 7 a.m., so visitors do not have to worry about going hungry.
Campsites are also available for the event. For vendor or camper space call Melvin Palmer at 256-479-6932.
The Weogufka Center is located at 145 Memorial Loop in Weogufka. Admission for Mule Day is $5 per vehicle.
Following Mule Day, the Weogufka Center will be gearing up for its next big event this summer with the Muddy Water Bluegrass Jammin’ and Camping event June 11-13.
“Jammin’” will take place Thursday and Friday, with a Bluegrass Scramble at 6 p.m. Friday, June 12. Stage shows will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 13.
The lineup will be announced in the June issue of “Alabama Music Association Magazine.” For more information contact Sue Baxley at 256-249-3666.
