A Goodwater man was arrested earlier this month on two charges, including reckless endangerment, following a pursuit.
On February 7, Deputy Brown was on stationary patrol on County Road 50 in Kellyton when he observed an all-terrain vehicle approaching quickly behind him. He saw a gray side-by-side with a white male occupant and pulled out to pursue.
He observed the ATV being driven at speeds of 90 mph. The pursuit led to U.S. Highway 280, and because of the driver’s erratic driving on Highway 280, other officers were called to join the pursuit.
Sgt. Ward and Rockford Officer Hubbard responded and deployed stop sticks in an attempt to stop the vehicle.
However, the ATV continued on Highway 280 and onto Alabama Highway 115 then made it to County Road 65, where he eventually stopped.
Aiden Lee Baker, 23 years old, was arrested on the scene and charged with attempting to elude law enforcement officers and reckless endangerment.
His total bond for both charges was set at $7,500, and he was released on bond on February 8 to await trial. The ATV was impounded by the Sheriff’s Office.
