Alabama Secretary of State Wes Allen recently released a list of counties in which non-citizens were illegally registered to vote and a list of counties where they had voted.
The report reflects the identification of 186 illegally registered non-citizens, with the second list reporting 25 had illegally voted in Alabama elections.
On Monday, Allen publicly released the list of counties where those illegal registrations occurred and where illegal ballots were cast, reflecting a breakdown of the counties and numbers.
The list of 186 non-citizen registered voters includes 36 counties, with Jefferson County having the highest number at 25.
Coosa County did not make the list, although many surrounding counties did. Those include Chilton County with three, Elmore County with two, Shelby County with five, Talladega County with two, and Tallapoosa County with one.
Of the 25 non-citizen registered voters with a voting history, Baldwin and Montgomery counties had the most with three each. Counties surrounding Coosa that made that list were Chilton and Tallapoosa, with one each.

“I have been clear that our elections should be decided by American citizens and only American citizens. Through a cooperative effort with the Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, my office used the federal SAVE database to identify the names of people who are not American citizens but who registered to vote and, in some cases, cast ballots in our elections. I will not tolerate this,” Allen said in a statement.
Allen will refer these matters to local, state and federal law enforcement authorities for review and any appropriate action.
