A Kellyton man was arrested on a drug-related charge following a traffic stop.
On December 21, Deputy Kelley was patrolling U.S. Highway 280 when he observed a vehicle making a traffic violation. He stopped the vehicle, which was occupied by two individuals.
He asked them to step out of the vehicle and asked for the driver’s license and insurance. Kelley observed a small brown object fall from the driver’s shirt during that time.
He retrieved the item from the ground and asked for consent to search the vehicle, with consent being given.
That search led to him finding black scales with white residue on them. After an on-site investigation, 48-year-old Eric Dewayne Moore of Kellyton was arrested and charged with use or possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia.
His bond was set at $2,500. He was released on bond December 23 to await trial.
