Waylon Chapman-Allen and Lacorrian Thompson secured the first win for Central of Coosa County at home Monday.
Central Coosa County lost to Winterboro last year, but they did not allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Cougars came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 80-68.
Central Coosa County was led to victory by LaCorrian Thompson and Waylon Chapman-Allen. Thompson went 7-for-16 en route to 17 points in addition to six assists and five steals, while Chapman-Allen shot 69% from the field to rack up 21 points and six steals. That’s the most steals Thompson has posted since back in December of 2024.
Zaccai Lauderdale was another key player, putting up 11 points and six boards.
The victory got Central of Coosa County back to even at 1-1. As for Winterboro, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-2.

Leading Central of Coosa County to victory were Waylon Chapman-Allen and LaCorrian Thompson. Chapman-Allen posted 19 points and seven steals, while Thompson went 8-for-17 on his way to 17 points and five steals.
The game was Chapman-Allen’s third in a row with at least 19 points.
Zikeytrice Marbury was another key player, putting up six points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.
Central of Coosa County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team. They’ve now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds every time they’ve taken the court this season.
