A Rockford man was arrested late last month on two charges relating to stolen property from near the Ray community.
On October 29, the Sheriff’s Office received a report that a lawnmower and trailer were stolen from a residence along Alabama Highway 259.
Sgt. Ward received an anonymous tip regarding the whereabouts of the lawnmower and trailer. He and Lt. Moon responded to the area indicated by the provided information, and upon arriving at the given address they found the allegedly stolen property at a residence.
They further made contact with 35-year-old Joseph Bradley Russell of Rockford. On October 30, he was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree receiving stolen property for the lawnmower and trailer.
His total bond was set at $10,000, and he was released on bond on November 5 to await trial. The property was recovered.
Anyone who suspects or observes illegal activity is encouraged to report it to the Coosa County Sheriff’s Office at 256-377-4922 or online at www.coosacountyso.org. Anonymous tips are also welcome.
