Patti Davis
Graveside service for Mrs. Patti Davis, 69, of Alexander City, was Monday, October 27, 2025, at Hillview Memorial Park. Bro. Michael Booker officiated.
Patti Davis, a beacon of love and faith, passed away surrounded by the warmth of her family. A graduate of Goodwater High School, Patti’s life was a testament to her enduring passion and commitment to her loved ones. Her journey began in the heart of her close-knit community, where she cultivated a life rich with meaning and purpose.
After dedicating many years of service, Patti retired from Russell Corporation, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and dedication. Her colleagues remember her as a pillar of strength and kindness, always willing to lend a helping hand or share a word of encouragement. Patti’s professional life was marked by the same love and care she devoted to every aspect of her existence.
A devout Christian, Patti’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. It guided her actions and provided comfort during life’s storms. She was a source of spiritual inspiration to her family and friends, embodying the virtues of compassion and grace in her daily walk.
Patti’s interests were a reflection of her nurturing spirit. She found joy in cooking for her family, her recipes a symbol of her love and a cherished legacy in every flavorful bite. An avid fan of the soap opera “Days of our Lives,” she enjoyed the escapades and dramas of its characters, often sharing the highlights with anyone who would listen. Her hands were rarely still, as she delighted in sewing clothes for her family, each stitch a testament to her dedication and love.
Patti cherished her family and her dogs, her heart brimming with love for each of them. Her daughter Robbie L. Davis, her son Robert Melvage Davis (Amie) of Shelby, and her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought immeasurable joy to her life. She was a beloved sister to David (Linda) McCain, Thomas McCain, Barry (Amanda) McCain, and Laura M. Talley. Her nieces and nephews held a special place in her heart, each one treasured for their unique bond with her.
Patti was preceded in death by her father, Marion Abram McCain; her mother, Annie Smith Robinson; her devoted husband, Robert Melvage Davis; her daughter, Angela Marie Carden; and her sister, Mary Ann Peters. Her family takes solace in knowing that she is now reunited with her loved ones in eternal peace.
Those who knew Patti will remember her as a loving, faith-filled, and passionate soul. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she touched with her kindness and in the stories that will be passed down through generations. Patti Davis’s life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love and devotion, a life that will be celebrated and remembered by all who were blessed to know her.

Wilbert Johnson

A service of celebration for Pastor Wilbert Johnson was held Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Mountain Home Missionary Baptist Church in Sycamore with Pastor Robert Duncan leading the eulogy. Interment followed in Rockford Cemetery.
Pastor Emeritus Wilbert Johnson was born on April 25, 1953, in Rockford to the late Albert Gray and the late Peggy Johnson Crayton. On Thursday, October 16, 2025, Pastor Johnson peacefully transitioned from this walk of life at Noland Health Services in Sylacauga.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Shelton Gray.
Pastor Johnson was a proud graduate of Coosa County High School in Rockford. After completing his education, he served his country honorably for two years in the U.S. Navy. He later became a dedicated truck driver, construction worker, and was a skilled painter for over 20 years.
At an early age Pastor Johnson accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. As his faith matured, he united with Mountain Home Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Robert Duncan. Gifted with musical talent, he served faithfully as a skilled keyboardist and musician at Mountain Grove Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late Rev. Robert Hatten.
Answering the call to preach the Gospel, Pastor Johnson stood before his family and congregation to deliver his first sermon, beginning a journey that would bless many lives. His dedication and faithfulness led him to become the Pastor-Elect of Mountain Grove Baptist Church in Childersburg, where he served with devotion and humility until his health declined.
Pastor Johnson leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving and devoted wife of 30 years, Sylvia Jordan Johnson of Sylacauga; his beloved children, Desean Johnson (Dorothy) of Murrieta, Calif., Jermane Johnson and Andrea Johnson, both of Moreno Valley, Calif., and Lancy Battle (Benetta) and Martez Battle, both of Macon, Ga.; loving siblings, Faye Walter Silmon (John Wesley) and Jeanette Crayton, both of Sylacauga, Flex Crayton Jr. and Joe Crayton, both of Sylacauga, and Rayfus Norris Crayton of Atlanta, Ga.; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Smith (Will), Janice Colvin, Mary Moran (Wilmon), and Wanda Hicks; brothers-in-law, Cecil Jordan and Clinton Jordan (Gail); 22 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; aunts, Ruby Jo Hardman and Lily Fields; special friends, Aletha Williams and Patricia Greyson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Pastor Johnson’s life was one of faith, service, and love. He will forever be remembered for his steadfast spirit, his devotion to God, his musical gifts, and the countless lives he touched through ministry and friendship.
