Breaking news: Alexander City pedestrian killed in hit and run

A single-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian that occurred at approximately 10:15 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, has claimed the life of an Alexander City man.

Jerry L. Partee, 57, who was the pedestrian, was fatally injured when an unknown vehicle struck him while he was standing in the roadway. Partee was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash occurred on Alabama Highway 259 near the 12 mile marker, approximately one mile south of Alexander City, in Tallapoosa County. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
