In My Humble Opinion
Jodi McDade
This week has been one of enormous historical occurrences! We have seen what appears to be a major step into a “potential” peace in the Middle East.
I use the word “potential” only because of the past attempts working with many of the countries in that area of the world, but then seeing agreements fall apart. Somehow I am more hopeful this time because there are so many more countries whose leaders have sat down at tables to find common ground they can work with. Some of these countries have been adversaries for thousands of years – going back to Biblical times.
There are so many issues at play that will have to be worked out as these deals progress. Not only are there many political issues that these countries disagree on, there are also the religious backgrounds of their people. But if they can just hold on to the things they agree on maybe they can figure out how to work around their differences for the overall good in all their countries.
I pray this will become one of the most important “turning points” we have ever seen and that the future of the Middle East is changed for the good of all.
It has been so amazing to watch the living hostages being reunited with their families. These people have survived through living hell for so long, and it will take time to overcome the nightmares I’m sure they suffer.
So many of the families have worked long and hard to keep their loved ones from being forgotten. They must be exhausted and drained from those efforts so they will also need time to decompress. But there are still the remains of 24 others that need to be returned so there is no total closure for any of them until that is resolved.
Here in our country we are still mourning the death of Charlie Kirk just over a month ago. As I write this we are recognizing what would have been his thirty-second birthday. And we are also celebrating the “turning points” we are seeing as his organization, TPUSA, is growing by leaps and bounds.
More and more of our young people are coming forward to take up Charlie’s cause by continuing his work and, more importantly, his total faith in God and our great country. Many of us have been praying for a revival of faith that has been needed for so long, and we are now seeing it coming true. I’ll continue to pray that this is another giant step in the ability of people to find their common ground.
Unfortunately, historical occurrences are not always of positive results. We are still seeing our own country falling apart as more and more foreign-supported groups continue to fight against our law enforcement agencies. The majority of the people participating in these attacks are being paid by groups hiring demonstrators – like “Crowds on Demand.”
Demonstrators are provided with signs, gas masks, tents, food, water, and other gear that might be needed, and you can tell all of it has come from the same sources. What is not shown on news programs are the buses used to bring the people into the areas of protest.
I feel so sorry for the many people living in these cities that are under siege. They do not have the resources to move, and the politicians in charge don’t really care about them. Citizens should not have to live in areas where law enforcement is being attacked and their safety is in danger.
We live in a country where law and order is a basic right, but it is under attack by criminals who are being allowed to wreak havoc on law-abiding citizens. The Democratic-run cities do not support law enforcement arresting criminals.
If they are arrested, the judicial systems allow the criminals back on the streets regardless of what their prior records are. What are jails and prisons built for? We are even seeing some of this in our areas.
The last historical occurrence I’ll talk about is the shutdown of our federal government because the Democrats are refusing to vote AGAIN on a Continuing Resolution to fund the government while negotiations continue. This resolution is the SAME as it was when the Democrats supported it before, but now they want to amend it.
They claim that the resolution is going to cause our healthcare costs to increase. What’s new? They have been increasing since the Affordable Care Act (better known as Obamacare) was approved in 2010.
The ACA did help provide healthcare to many people who were not covered by insurance, but it has increased the cost to others from day one. Plus, it gave the insurance companies the ability to determine what they would and would not cover. Doctors no longer make the decisions – the insurance companies do.
Again, what we see is a “failure to communicate.” History should be something we learn from, but not something we continue to repeat over and over. Our government has become too politically divided and unwilling to compromise. But we only have ourselves to blame because we continue to vote for the same people over and over again, not realizing these people ARE THE PROBLEM.
Election season for 2026 is upon us already. Please take time to do some research on your own value systems. Then, find the candidates who share those values.
If you don’t approve of boys in girls’ sports and locker rooms, transgender surgeries on children, the destruction of the American families, or children not knowing how to read, STOP voting for candidates that DO approve on these issues!
Until next week!
