On October 10, the Alabama Department of Corrections reported that on Saturday, October 4, Bibb Correctional Facility staff stopped the introduction of contraband into the facility.
Correctional Officer Curtis Green, who resigned his position, attempted to introduce a cell phone, approximately 68 grams of methamphetamine and approximately 7 grams of fentanyl into the facility. Green was arrested and transported to the Bibb County Jail.
Green was charged with:
- Promoting prison contraband, first degree
- Promoting prison contraband, second degree
- Trafficking illegal drugs / methamphetamine
- Trafficking illegal drugs / fentanyl
- Conspiracy to commit a controlled substance crime
- Use of office for personal gain
ADOC K-9 handlers and narcotics agents assisted in the case. The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be pending.
