Congratulations to Justine Clark for being chosen as the Teacher of the Month. This is Mrs. Clark’s fourth year working at Central High School (CHS) as a paraprofessional overseeing students in seventh through twelfth grades on their intervention and Edgenuity coursework.
Mrs. Clark’s philosophy when working with each of our students is to love them. She added, “Love them on their bad days and on their good days.”
Beyond content knowledge, Mrs. Clark believes it is important to teach her students how to treat people in society, as well as teach them how they should be treated.
Clark says, “My goal as a paraprofessional is to make a difference in my students’ lives. What I love most about teaching is being there for the students when they need someone to talk to or when they need encouragement. Watching my students grow up and graduate is very bittersweet.”
Beyond her classroom responsibilities, Mrs. Clark has volunteered as a cheer coach for both Coosa Upward basketball and football. She is also in her third year volunteering as the prom sponsor for our junior and senior prom. She added, “I absolutely love being able to give our students a night to remember.”
She is also the announcer for the Pride of Coosa County marching band’s halftime performance, and recently she took on the responsibility of overseeing United Way for our school district. Clark is looking forward to creating fundraisers throughout the year to benefit this program that provides services to our students and families.
While working with the students on their education, Mrs. Clark is in her senior year earning a bachelor’s degree in behavioral science and social work. Mrs. Clark plans to continue her education to earn a master’s degree in mental health clinical counseling. Her goal is to be a mental health counselor for the Coosa County School District.
Congratulations, Mrs. Clark, on a well-deserved honor.
