We thank Judge Richard Dean for a wonderful column on “Thoughts on upcoming Independence Day.” It was very informative and a reminder. Many times we do forget.
We love Judge Dean. He served our country and is now serving our community. He is a very smart humble man, and we appreciate and honor him on this Fourth of July and every day!
We give a big shout out to two former coaches of Coosa Central High School, Coach Doris Gamble and Coach Calvin McKinney, for the years they served the school and the people of Coosa County communities. They are true real people, and Joe N. Belyeu Gymnasium will not let us forget that.
The new basketball court was named Gamble and McKinney Court. They were honored for their contribution on June 14, there at the school.
Some people are complaining about the landfill not being open sometimes. I wish they would help me complain about the roadsides that need cutting, especially on County Road 18, 40 and others. I almost lost my life on County Road 18 because I could not see deer jumping out from the bushes. However, I praise God I am here to talk about it!
Something needs to be done on County roads 18 and 40! It is ridiculous how it looks and feels riding through. Some people won’t ride on 18 because of fear and danger, and the respect!
Butch and I took a ride to Titus and Richville on Sunday after a great worship service, listening to Pastor Hill’s great message and meditating on the goodness of God and all the reasons why I trust Him. The roadsides were clear and clean; you could see miles away.
Then I wondered about 18 and 40, not to compare, but to be aware what is going on. I am not technically complaining. I am really hurting. All I hear is, “It’s not enough workers.” Well hire some and stop the excuses.
Who is doing Titus and Richville? Aren’t they in Coosa County, as well as County roads 18 and 40? Who are those workers?
Maybe you can hire Buzzy and let Buzzy fly over and look at all the roads that need to be cut and let y’all know where to go cut and look out for the deer. Buzzy will be a big help. Buzzy ain’t no joke (haha).
But for real, I have had enough of this high grass. I am a cool person most of the time, but I have gotten a little too hot. I love all of you workers and am not putting this on one person, but sometimes we must speak up, knowing there will be some who will not like it and will hate and criticize you for speaking the truth.
“Even light is hated by the dark.”
Some people will criticize what they can’t control, attack what they don’t understand and hate what they secretly wish they had the courage to do and become. Even the moon gets judged, but it never stops showing up.
Happy birthday to all July babies.
