Special to the News
The Coosa County Farmers Federation held its annual cooking contest on June 10.
Judges for this contest were Rockford Mayor Scott White, Lynn Anne Castleberry and Christa Jennings. This year the category was “iced sheet cakes.”
First place was awarded to Glenda Cardwell for her Italian coconut cream, and second place went to Beverly Burks for her “Chocolate on Chocolate.” Cash prizes were awarded to both.
Cardwell will now go on to compete in the state contest held in September at the Alfa home office in Montgomery.
