This sign by the Rockford Church of God family honors the memory of Bro. Wayne Weeks and his vision for the church’s blessed and bright future.
Yes, Buzzy, I agree on many things. Filthiness and no concern annoy me to he point it makes me sick. It’s time for something to be done when a buzzard becomes peeved.
Now you should know how it annoys me and other people who care about the community – trash on the roadside, dead animals laid in the road and people just continue to look away and run over them one after another, grass 1,000 feet high. You can’t see if dead or alive animals are there. However, you can smell them, which is sickening to the stomach, people, county, and state.
Let’s clean up and give the buzzard a break, and the crows, too. Check this out, now the crows can’t stand the filth so they are helping the buzzard clean up the mess. There was a time crows did not clean the mess, but look, now they are tired of it and say, “Wow, let us help the buzzards.” That’s what we must do – help each other to keep a clean community and environment for all of our sake and not leave it for the buzzard to do. Let’s stop overlooking the mess and say or do something.
Our prayers and condolences go to the Ivey family in the loss of Albert Wilson “Bud” Ivey Jr. I have great memories of Bud and his family. His wife, Robbie, and son Ethan hold a special place in my heart.
One day at my lowest the phone rang. It was Bud sharing how his wife had finished reading a column of mine about losing a fur baby. It touched her so much because she loves her fur baby and had lost one before. Bud decided to call me and share his wife’s pain and sorrow. Talking to me, he realized I was Clifford’s (his friend’s) sister, and he shared a true story about him and Clifford growing up together in Rockford as young boys.
Clifford helped him and his dad do work around the house to make a few dollars for school. When it was lunchtime, it would trouble him for Clifford to eat outside and them inside. One day he (Bud) had enough of it, so he took his plate outside and ate with Clifford. I shed tears on the phone as he shared the story. There is joy in real true stories and not blind to the people who can see.
Clifford and Bud became the best of friends until the end. Many years later, Bud’s son Ethan and my grandson Chesley became close friends. When Chesley lost his mother at the age of 14, Ethan, at the same age, was right by Chesley’s side at the home-going service and stood with him the entire service.
They played ball together and were great friends. I have many great memories of the Iveys.
Another great memory of a special great person we all love and can never forget, Bro. Wayne Weeks. We, the Rockford Church of God family, love Bro. Weeks so much. We honor him today and forever by this sign in memory of Bro. Wayne Weeks.
Happy birthday, June babies.
