Congratulations to my god-granddaughter Alexandra Symone “Lexy” Cousin on her graduation from Xavier University.
A season for making plans for grads is a hectic time, but still enjoyable. It is unbelievable how many nieces, great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews, and granddaughters and god-granddaughters are graduating this year.
My god-granddaughter Alexandra Symone (Lexy) Cousin received her bachelor’s degree from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. She will attend medical school in the fall. We are very proud of her and happy about her plan this fall.
Many students don’t have a plan and feel this is it; however, it’s just the beginning. We pray for all of them who are seeking and moving forward and the ones who are undecided.
Some young students fall by the wayside and give up for believing they cannot go any farther, but that’s not the answer. You have come too far to fall; get up and fly. The best is yet to come. Be like a bumblebee. The bumblebee’s wings are so thin and its body so big that it should not be able to fly. The only problem is the bee doesn’t know that.
Most of us do not know what we cannot do until someone tells us. We are willing to try almost anything, go anywhere, stretch ourselves to the limits in pursuit of our dreams, and then we talk to other people. We are reminded how dangerous it may be, what a chance we are taking.
People have no problem telling us of all the downsides and pitfalls and that they cannot see how we will ever reach our goal. They put us in touch with our faults, limitations and habits or others who didn’t make it. When they are finished we have been talked right out of our dreams.
Bumblebees do not talk, and neither should we. I might talk a lot, but I don’t tell my dreams. LOL However, if we have a dream we want to come true, the only way to it is through it. We must take a chance, a risk and a leap. If we believe in ourselves and our ability, we will be taught how to fly.
Just remember a time when your falling turned into flying. What happened? What did your big mouth doubters have to say then?
I say to all you graduates, “Keep dreaming, and keep flying like the bumblebees, no matter how big or small.”
Happy birthday to all May babies.
Let’s pray for all churches and leaders, law enforcement, judges, attorneys, mentally disturbed people, hospitals, and nursing homes.
“Although the face of God is before all people, the fool cannot find it.”
“When you look to anyone or anything as your road to God, you are on your way to being lost.”
“I can do it because I believe I can do it.”
