A total of 113 Central students in seventh through twelfth grades recently enjoyed the annual trip to Six Flags for Math, Science and Physics Day.
The annual trip is a reward trip organized by the Central High School math and science teachers for students who have a 70-plus average in their math and science classes, as well as good behavior. Students had the opportunity to sell donuts prior to the trip to pay for the trip or offset the cost of their trip.
As stated on the Six Flags website, “Students explore math, science and physics by observing (and RIDING) the mechanics of world-class coasters, thrill rides and more.”
Thank you to seventh and eighth grade math teacher Pam Belyeu for organizing the donut fundraiser, as well as other aspects of the reward trip. In addition, the trip would not have been possible without the Central staff who served as chaperones, Jacques Mitchell, Alicia Thompson, Derek Humphrey, Devon Ward, Daniel Flowers, Trenton Davenport, and Celeste Thornton, as well as the parents who served as chaperones, Mr. Ocana, Ms. Halsey, Ms. Cox, Mrs. Ware, Mr. Lee, Mr. Gaddis, Mr. Davis and adult sibling chaperone Kelsey Simmons.
Mr Mitchell said, “It was a great day, and the students were well behaved.”
Students are already looking forward to next year’s trip.
