Anita Yates Henderson

Anita’s family will receive friends on Saturday, April 12, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home.

Ms. Anita Yates Henderson, a woman of spirited energy and loving heart, passed away surrounded by the warmth of her family’s love. Anita’s creative spirit and dedication to her work and family left an indelible mark on all who were privileged to know her.

Anita graduated from Benjamin Russell High School, where she formed lifelong friendships and laid the foundations for her future endeavors. Her career spanned 16 years at Madix, where she was a committed employee. Her colleagues will remember her as a workaholic, not because she was driven by duty alone, but because she genuinely loved the challenges and camaraderie her job provided.

An ardent supporter of Alabama football, Anita’s enthusiasm for the game was contagious. Her cheers and celebrations were fixtures during the football season, and her love for the Crimson Tide symbolized her passion for the things that brought joy to her life. Yet, even with her fervent support for her team, nothing compared to the joy she found in spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Rashanda Kelley of Fort Worth, Texas. Her sisters, Gail (Stick) McDaniel, Brenda Marshall, and Rita (Tracy) Payne, will carry forward the memories of sisterly bonds that were as deep as they were delightful. Her brother, Sidney Yates, will continue to honor the family legacy that Anita held so dear. A host of nieces and nephews will remember their aunt as a figure of inspiration and joy, someone who could always be counted on for support and a dose of fun.

Anita was preceded in death by her father, Artis Yates; her mother, Christine Yates; and her sister, Patricia Ballow. She now joins them in peace, leaving behind a legacy of love and the immeasurable impact she made on her family and community.

The loss of Ms. Anita Yates Henderson is deeply felt by all who knew her, yet we take solace in the knowledge that her spirit lives on through her family and the countless lives she touched. Her memory will be cherished and celebrated, a testament to a life lived with an abundance of love and a zest for life that was truly remarkable.

As we say our final goodbyes, we acknowledge a life well-lived, a woman well-loved, and a story that will continue to inspire long after her passing. Rest in peace, dear Anita; your legacy will forever be etched in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing you.

Raymond Hendrix

Funeral service for Mr. Raymond Hendrix, 90, of Alexander City, was Monday, April 7, 2025, at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Bro. Sam Kaufman and Bro. Eric Hendrix officiated. Burial followed in the Hillview Memorial Park.

Raymond L. Hendrix, known affectionately as Raymond “Pawpaw” to his friends and family, peacefully passed away on April 2, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on October 21, 1934, Raymond’s life was marked by devotion, humor, and compassion, qualities that endeared him to all who were fortunate to cross his path.
Raymond’s enduring love story began with his beloved wife, Laurel E. Hendrix, with whom he built a life full of laughter and shared dreams in Alexander City. Raymond and Laurel celebrated 68 years of marriage. Together, they raised a family that became Raymond’s pride and joy: his sons, Raymond Glenn Hendrix of Goodwater, and Gary L. (Linda) Hendrix of Alexander City; and his daughter, Gaylon Hendrix (Jason) Buivids of Jacksons Gap. He was a cherished pawpaw to Steven (Tara) Hendrix, Eric (Taylor) Hendrix, Wesley (Paige) Hendrix, Adam (Michelle) Hendrix, Amanda (Spencer) MaGill, Lauren Henderson, and Erika Buivids. Raymond’s legacy continued to grow with his great-grandchildren, Alex (Cheyenne) Ray, Cole Hendrix, Ethan Hendrix, Logan Hendrix, Dylan Hendrix, Raelynn Hendrix, Stella Pazsak, Bo Buivids, Holden Coggins, Sky Hendrix; and great-great-grandchild, Grady Ray. Each of them held a special place in his heart, and he cherished every moment spent with his expanding family.
Before leaving this world, Raymond was reunited with his loved ones who had gone before him: his mother, Catherine Pearl Hendrix; his father, Ivey Floyd Hendrix; his sister, Mildred Stevens; and his brothers, Coley Hendrix, Willard Rudolph Hendrix, and Gene Hendrix. The bond they shared in life continues as they are now together again.
Raymond’s professional life was characterized by dedication and service. For 38 years, he safely transported countless children as a school bus driver for the Alexander City School System, a role he took great pride in. His commitment to his community was also evident through his 12 years of service in the National Guard. Furthermore, Raymond’s work ethic shone brightly during his 42 years with Russell Corp, where he was not only a valued employee, but also a friend to many.
Those who knew Raymond will remember him as a man of great heart. Raymond was an avid Alabama fan and enjoyed swinging in his swing, listening to southern gospel music while enjoying a Dr. Pepper. He also enjoyed old westerns, especially Roy Rogers and John Wayne. Raymond  faithfully served The Church of God as a Sunday School Superintendent. He was loving – a true family man who put the needs and happiness of his loved ones above all else. He was funny, with a sense of humor that could light up a room and bring smiles to faces even on the cloudiest of days. Above all, he was kind, a gentleman who treated everyone with respect and warmth, making friends easily and leaving a lasting impact on those he met.
Raymond’s life was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and kindness, threads that will continue to bind his family and friends as they cherish his memory. As we say goodbye to Raymond L. Hendrix, we celebrate a life well-lived, a journey marked by joy, generosity, and an abundance of love.
A life such as his is not ended, but carried forward by those who were touched by his spirit. Raymond’s legacy will live on in the stories shared, the Sunday school lessons he taught, and the love he gave freely. As we reflect on his life, we find comfort in knowing that Raymond’s influence will be felt for generations to come.
The family would like to thank Enhabit Hospice for their excellent care and support.

Born to the late Falby Lezina Livingston and William Grover Livingston, Calvin was a lifelong resident of Alabama. He grew up surrounded by a large family, and although he was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, the values they instilled in him carried throughout his life.

Calvin devoted 25 years of his career to Kimberly Clark in Goodwater, where he worked diligently and was respected by his colleagues. Prior to that, he worked as a pulpwooder, a testament to his strong work ethic and connection to the land. His dedication to his work was matched only by his commitment to various associations, where he was known for his friendliness and willingness to lend a hand.

He is survived by his beloved children: Calvin Livingston Jr., Jody Livingston, and  Barry Livingston, all of Goodwater; Gina (Ronnie) Powell of Alexander City; and Connie (Timothy) Rollins of Wetumpka. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Trish (Terry) Livingston, Melissa (Samuel Vazquez) Livingston, William “Willie” Livingston, Pamela Rollins, and Hunter Rollins; and his great-grandchildren: Sasha, Lana, Shem, Janaya Jayla, Japheth, Asher Vazquez, and Gavin Norwood. Calvin will be remembered as a handy and creative soul, whose friendly demeanor made him a joy to be around. His ability to fix anything broken, his infectious laugh, and his enduring kindness are memories that will be held dear by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

As we bid farewell to Calvin Wright Livingston Sr., we reflect on a life well-lived, a man well-loved, and a legacy that will continue to inspire. His was a life that exemplified the meaning of hard work, the importance of family, and the joy of simple pleasures.
