Special to the News
Each of Central Coosa’s three high school science teachers were awarded a 2025 Central Alabama Electric Cooperative Bright Ideas grant.
Jacques Mitchell received $681.26 for his “Understanding Blood Typing” genetics study. Alicia Thompson received $710.26 for her “Getting Charged About Electricity” experiments on static and current electricity. Mary White received $ 715 for her “Moles, Moles, Moles” project teaching students about the chemical mole.
We are blessed to have such a giving company that is generous and willing to invest in our students’ education.
Thank you to Coosa County Schools science coach Shelley Wood for coordinating the grants and sharing pictures and information on the awards. We look forward to more pictures and information as the science teachers implement the lessons funded by the grants.
