Doris Jean Farris
Doris Jean Farris, age 85, of Sylacauga, passed away on Monday, December 2, 2024.
Doris is survived by her husband of 33 years, Horace Farris; her step-sons, David Walley, John Walley (Cynthia); her sister, Carolyn Messer; her 10 step-grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Elton and Pluma Martin; her step-son, Ronald Walley; her brothers, Junior Martin, Billy Martin, James Martin; and her sisters, Ruth Coleman, Barbara Jones.
Mrs. Farris was loved dearly by all her family. She was the pianist at Grimes Chapel Baptist Church for over 40 years. She enjoyed her hobbies of gardening, reading and music.
A visitation for Doris was held Thursday, December 5, 2024, at Radney-Smith Funeral Home, Sylacauga, followed by a funeral service at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Jeff Chick officiating.
Doris was laid to rest in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, 1501 Talladega Highway, Sylacauga, 35150.
Serving as pallbearers were Silas Hilley, Jordan Armstrong, Benjamin Walley, John Walley, Kyle Barnett, and Mason Bryant.

Linda J. Morris
Linda J. Morris, age 76, of Weogufka, passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2024.
Linda retired from Coosa Valley Medical Center having worked over three decades as a buyer in the purchasing department. She worked for Avondale Mills and People’s Bank prior to her employment with Coosa Valley. She was a member of Grimes Chapel Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and was always involved with Vacation Bible School. Linda was a strong supporter of the Sylacauga City School System and volunteered her efforts to many organizations such as the Aggie Marching Band and other activities in which her beloved son, R.D., was involved. Linda will be missed but fondly remembered for her love of God, family, and friends. All who knew her were blessed by her love. She enjoyed cooking, tending to her flowers, bird watching, but most of all, caring for her grandchildren with her loving husband, Roger, by her side.

Linda is survived by her husband, Roger Dale Morris Sr.; her son, Roger Dale “R.D.” Morris Jr. (Meg); her sisters, Faye Patterson and Ann Andrews; her brother-in-law, Randall Morris (Diane); her granddaughters, Mary Griffin and Sarah Beth Morris; her nieces and nephews, Janet Hemnes, Jimmy Garrett (Kenneth), Cindy Dowdy (Dexter), Karey Horn (Marty), Tammy Smith (Mike), Ricky Garrett (Tammy), Marty Garrett (Lisa), Anna Carden (Rodney), Emily Andrews-Stodola, and Sherry Lucas (Jason); her 18 great-nieces and nephews; and her 17 great-great-nieces and nephews. Linda also leaves behind a special friend and shopping buddy, Robbie Greene.
Linda was preceded in death by her father, James Leon Garrett, and her mother, Sara Demedicis Garrett; her brothers, James Lewis Garrett and Donald Edwin Garrett; and her nephew, Todd Patterson.
A visitation for Linda was held Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Radney-Smith Funeral Home, Sylacauga, followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. with Bro. Rick Patrick officiating.
Serving as pallbearers were Marty Garrett, Andrew Kiser, Pete Rodgers, Jason Gregory, Gerald Greene, Brandon McLain, and Tim Griffin. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Randall Morris, Ricky Garrett, and Mike Smith.
Linda was laid to rest in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, 1501 Talladega Highway, Sylacauga, AL 35150.

Betty Joyce Price
Funeral service for Mrs. Betty Joyce Price, 90, of Kellyton, was Sunday, December 1, 2024, at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Randy Anderson officiated. Burial followed in the Alexander City Cemetery.
Mrs. Price passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at Russell Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 1, 1934, to Samuel Newton Jones and Burner Etola Stone Jones. She was a wonderful cook, specializing in her homemade bread and pound cake. Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She always put others first and truly had a servant’s heart. Betty was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her sons, Glynn (Patsy) Price of Alexander City, Lynn (Miana) Price of Kellyton, and Cary (Katrina) Price of Bakersfield, Calif.; special niece, Wanda T. (Don) Lamoureux of Kellyton; brother-in-law, A.J. Price of Alexander City; sister-in-law, Jean Patten of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; 8 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William “Billy” Henry Price; sisters, Audrice Jones, Mary Loyce Jones, and Audrey Turner.

Sarah Colyn Whitson
Graveside service for Mrs. Sarah Colyn Whitson, 62, of Equality, will be Friday, December 6, 2024, at 1 p.m. at the Elvin L. Robinson Cemetery in Equality.
Mrs. Whitson passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at UAB Palliative Care. She was born on January 30, 1962, in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, to Elvin Lyle Robinson and Mary Greene Robinson. Sarah’s happiest moments were spent with the sand between her toes, the beach providing a backdrop to the precious memories made with her beloved family and adoring grandbabies.
An avid treasure hunter, Sarah’s keen eye for antiques turned many a thrift store jaunt into an exciting quest for hidden gems. Her artistic touch brought beauty to the world through her crafts, and her impressive gardening skills were a testament to her nurturing soul. Sarah’s legacy as a wonderful wife, mother, Nana, and sister is deeply ensconced in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Her loving nature will be greatly missed, but the imprint of her life’s joy and kindness endures, as perennial as her well-tended garden.
She is survived by her husband, Kelly Whitson of Equality; sons, Joshua (Jennifer) Robinson of Prattville, Thaddeus Robinson of Equality, and Shawn (Melody) Edwards of Saint Pauls, N.C.; sister, Tammy (Kyle) Draper of Equality; brother, Lyle Robinson of Equality; sister-in-law, Linda Proctor of Jacksons Gap; grandchildren, Audrey Edwards, Ethan Edwards, Emma Robinson, Preston Lowrey, Brock Robinson, Isaiah Robinson, Kensley Robinson, and Temple Robinson; and great-grandchild, Aiden Lowrey. She also leaves behind her beloved fur baby, Bullet.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and daughter, Danielle Edwards.
