A high-speed pursuit resulted in the arrest of a Goodwater man last week.
On November 5, Sgt. Ward and Investigator Hodge were on routine patrol in the Goodwater area when they encountered individuals on motorcycles and a 4-wheeler without license plates traveling at a high rate of speed.
Ward initiated his lights, but the two motorcycles and 4-wheeler fled, and a high-speed pursuit ensued.
One of the motorcycles eventually stopped, at which point Ward exited his patrol vehicle and ordered the individual to put his hands up.
The motorcyclist was identified as 34-year-old LaMichael Corbin of Goodwater. He was arrested and charged with attempting to elude law enforcement officers.
Corbin’s bond was set at $5,000, and he was released on bond the same day to await trial.
