Adolphus “Doc” Leonard
A home-going celebration for Mr. Adolphus “Doc” Leonard was held Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Wright’s Funeral Home Chapel in Alexander City with Rev. Tony Leonard serving as eulogist. Interment followed at New Life Memorial Gardens in Alexander City.
On December 14, 1942, Adolphus Leonard was born to Mattie Hill Leonard in Coosa County. He confessed his life to Christ in his early years and became a member of New Elam Baptist Church. He was joined in holy matrimony to Joyce “Sho Sho” Brown Leonard.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Annie Lee Gray and Louise Leonard; and one brother, Frank Leonard.
He departed this earthly realm on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at his home in Kellyton.
He leaves to cherish his memories one son, Adolphus Andre Leonard; two daughters, Arlinda Hubbard (Kelvin) and Tarkeaya Leonard, all of Alexander City; six grandchildren, Daneia Johnson, Quintory Leonard, Dijon Leonard, Desmond Leonard, Kayden Brown, and McKinley Dates; four great-grandchildren, Skylynn Graeve, Kendall Johnson, Anaia Fortune, and Kairo Fortune; one brother, Archie (Mozelle) Leonard of Louisiana; one brother-in-law, Johnny Brown of Huntsville; and one sister-in-law, Carrie Tuck of Rockford; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
