September 15
Grimes Chapel Baptist Church, established in 1924, is celebrating its 100th year of continuous church service with a special Homecoming service Sunday, September 15. Service starts at 10 a.m. and will include special singing with “The Chosen Anointed” trio performing, presentations, and a fellowship meal to conclude the service. Grimes Chapel will receive commendation celebrating its 100th anniversary, and the church’s two oldest members who are in their mid-90s, Kitty Adams and Rosie Bryant, will also be honored during the celebration. Everyone is welcome to join us for this special Homecoming service. The church is located at 25235 Coosa County Road 29, Sylacauga, 35151, in the Stewartville community.

Join Equality Methodist Church for our 137th Homecoming Sunday, September 15. The church is located at 281 Alabama Highway 259, off Highway 9 in Equality. Special music begins at 10 a.m. featuring “We’re Still Here” Gospel Band. Worship service to follow at 11 a.m. with more great music and sermon by EMC pastor Rev. Wayne Cowhick of Alexander City. There will be a covered-dish lunch to follow in the fellowship hall. Please bring your favorite dishes, sides and desserts for everyone to enjoy! Guaranteed to receive a blessing! Holly Springs Baptist Church and Cemetery Association of Coosa County’s biannual meeting is October 5 at 10 a.m. at the church. All members, please attend.
