Central cheerleaders spent four days at the Great Wolf Lodge in LaGrange, Georgia, team building and working hard to prepare for the upcoming season. The girls came out a more confident and better prepared team, especially with their stunts.
They earned an Excellent and Superior rating, which is impressive considering our varsity squad is made up of seventh-twelfth grade cheerleaders, with 14 of our 18 girls attending camp for their very first time.
The Central squad also received the Herkie Award, which is an award in which all the schools in attendance vote on the squad they would want to be on if they were not on their squad.
In addition, congratulations to Kelsey McLaughlin, Aerial Green and Destini Kelly who made the All-American team. Aerial Green was also selected for the Leadership Award out of all the attendees by the United Cheer Association camp staff, which is particularly impressive considering Aerial is only going into the tenth grade.
Thank you to cheer sponsor Breezy Johnson for organizing the camp experience for our cheerleaders; she stated that she is extremely proud of what our cheerleaders accomplished at camp and is looking forward to a great season. In addition, Mrs. Johnson wanted to express her appreciation to Marsala Mitchell for assisting her. Football schedule included this week. Go Cougars!
