Ray man arrested for domestic violence

A man from the Ray community was recently arrested on multiple charges relating to a domestic violence case.
On October 23, a report was taken at the Sheriff’s Office for domestic violence/assault, second-degree theft of property, third-degree theft of property, and interfering with a domestic violence emergency call. After taking the report, warrants were obtained for Joseph Lee Lewis.
Following that, on October 25, Sgt. Rudd responded to a civil call in the Ray community and saw Lewis at the scene.
Rudd had knowledge that there were outstanding warrants on Lewis, and he proceeded to arrest him at the scene.
Lewis, 45 years old of the Ray community, was charged with aggravated assault, second-degree theft of property, third-degree theft of property, and interfering with a domestic violence emergency call.
Lewis’s total bond was set at $20,000 for all three charges. As of press time he remained in custody at the Coosa County Jail awaiting trial.
