Charles Richard “Ricky” Taylor

Memorial service for Mr. Charles Richard “Ricky” Taylor, 44, of Goodwater, was Monday, August 7, 2023, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Ricky was born on November 7, 1978, in Houston, Texas, and passed away on August 2, 2023, in Goodwater. Ricky was an intelligent, passionate and adventurous man, known for his love of nature, music and deep philosophical musings.
Ricky was a skilled floorman before his retirement, applying his keen intellect and adventurous spirit to his work. Devoted to God and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Ricky’s faith was an integral part of his life. His interests were wide and varied, reflecting his passionate and adventurous spirit. Ricky loved the great outdoors, especially the mountains and the creek in summertime. He enjoyed camping with his girls and was an exceptional builder, capable of constructing anything with his capable hands and imagination.
Music was another of Ricky’s passions. He spent countless hours picking around on his guitar. Ricky also enjoyed collecting coins and foreign money, a hobby that reflected his intellectual curiosity and his appreciation for the diverse cultures of the world and history. His philosophical and spiritual insights were always thought-provoking, inspiring those around him to consider life’s deeper meanings.
Ricky is survived by his daughters, Devin Nicole Taylor and Angela Nicole Taylor; mother of his children, Amber Taylor; his mother, Gwendolyn Finch; his stepfather, Larry Finch; his father-in-law, Clifford Foshee; his brothers, Harry Taylor, Michael Taylor, Trasy Finch, Samuel Finch, Manuel Finch, and Tracy Smith; and his sisters, Jennifer Hicks and Allinia Jones.
Ricky was preceded in death by his father, Jim Earl Taylor.
Ricky will be deeply missed by his family and friends. His memory will continue to inspire and uplift those who knew him, a testament to his intelligent, passionate and adventurous spirit.
