Kedric Hollenquest

 

Funeral service for Mr. Kedric Hollenquest was held Saturday, June 24, 2023, at First Baptist Church in Rockford with Pastor Stanford Benson officiating and Holloway Funeral Home directing services. Interment followed in the First Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Hollenquest was born February 26, 1980, to Ms. Cynthia Matthews. Kedric was educated in the Coosa County School System. At an early age he joined First Baptist Church.

Kedric gained his eternal wings on June 16, 2023, as he answered the Father’s call.

Left to cherish his memories and sweet spirit are his mother, Cynthia Mathews of Kellyton; stepfather, Lester Mathews of Kellyton; son, Joshua Hollenquest of Tallassee; daughter, Kanisha Hardnett of Atlanta, Ga.; sister, Tawanda Mathews of Kellyton; brother, Quentero Hollenquest of Maplesville; special aunt, Lagale Thomas of Titus; uncles, Terry Hollenquest of Titus, Charles Pearson of Louisville, Kentucky, and Donald Goggans of Kellyton; nieces, Quentay Hollenquest and Dasia Hollenquest, both of Atlanta, Ga., and Malliyah Mathews of Kellyton; nephews, Malik Pearson of Kellyton and Jordan Benson of Cottage Grove; special cousin, Stephanie Cook of Montgomery; step-sister, Rhonda Gunn; step-brother, Lester (Kim) Hollenquest; and grandson, Jamani Hollenquest.

Kedric was preceded in death by his brother, Latavius Mathews; grandmother, Hattie Hollenquest; and grandfather, Edgar Hollenquest.

 

Tommy Vansandt

 

Funeral service for Tommy Vansandt, 82, was Thursday, June 29, 2023, at Radney-Smith Chapel with Rev. Charles Sims officiating. Burial was in Unity Presbyterian Cemetery in Weogufka.

Mr. Vansandt died Monday, June 26, 2023, at Grandview Hospital.  He loved to hunt and work on his farm with his cattle.  He retired after 45 years as owner of Vansandt Hardware.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Pat Vansandt; son, Mark (DeLane) Vansandt; grandchildren, Dana Vansandt, Amy Binns, Kim Alexander; son, Craig (Angela) Vansandt; grandchildren, Adam Vansandt, Christina Quessenberry; son, Byron (Tara) Vansandt; grandchildren, Stephanie (Cameron) Bailey, Emily (Chandler) Cox; daughter, Cindy (Terry) Parnell, grandchildren, Michelle (Zack) Myers, Lindsey (Thomas) Hudgins; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Jeff Vick, Donnie Price, Chuck Hamilton, Ron Gaines, Todd Blankenship, and Ben Goss.
