Richville Rundown
Sheila Ward
Don’t forget about the Coosa County High School Alumni Reunion tomorrow night at the Rockford Event Center. Fellowship time begins at 5 p.m. with the meal at 6 p.m. The Class of 1973 will be honored.
So, bring a covered dish, comfortable and casual dress, and come out for a good time. Plates, cups, napkins, cutlery, along with drinks and ice are provided.
Coosa County Historical Society will meet on Sunday, April 23, at 2 p.m. at Twenty-Two & Crew. We will be finalizing the plans to open the Old Rock Jail on Sunday afternoons from May to October.
Right now we only have volunteers for the first and third Sundays of each month. If you can help, please let me know. More details about the meeting next week.
The Richville Volunteer Fire Department will be having Bingo on Saturday, May 6, at 6:30 p.m. Come out for a night of fun and fellowship.
They are also selling tickets for their Boston butts to be ready May 27. These are always good! See any of the members to purchase your ticket because they only cook what they sell, so no extras!
My scripture reading this week is John 15:12-13 which reads, “My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”
What a great follow up from Easter. Jesus gave His life for each of us. His command is to love one another.
How do we do that? We don’t actually have to die to show our love for others, but be willing to do so. Showing compassion and love to others helps us to love ourselves. Sometimes just a smile is all a person needs to feel good about themselves, and it doesn’t cost us a thing.
There are several in our community that are not feeling well, so please pray for their healing in God’s will. God knows their names and needs. Until next week, take care and be joyful!
Organizations in the area, as well as churches, I need your events! If your family has some news or an event to share, please contact me. I would prefer text to 334-414-7147 or emails to wardgrand6@gmail.com, but phone calls will be fine, too. If you don’t get me when you call, be sure to leave a message.
