My precious god furbaby, Jay II, recently celebrated a birthday! Happy late birthday to this cute pup!
We hope that everyone will have a blessed and happy Easter on Sunday, without focusing on the eggs.
Let us keep Lady Mandy Hill, Mother Kathy Dennis, Ms. Bonnie Abrams, Mrs. Darlene Hanna, and everyone else who is being crucified in prayer, and let’s pray for people to get in church and fellowship, praise and worship God for His son Jesus who did it all for us.
If you cannot do that, don’t say anything about Easter unless you are home-bound from health issues. Some people wait until Easter to come to church yelling “Happy Easter!” and it stopped there, but Jesus didn’t stop at the grave. He got up and is still moving. Let Him move in you today.
Pastor Hill’s message on Sunday was a message for all of us. The subject was “What got Jesus to the Cross,” and Pastor Hill truly told us what got Him there and how it was done. Sometimes we always think we know best. Sometimes we do. Sometimes we don’t, and sometimes we have to get what we ask God for to learn how wrong we actually were, but we need to turn to God in every situation. We need to let Him make the decision in our lives and not pride and selfishness because we want what everyone else has instead of God. Trust God today, and you can say, “Happy Easter; Jesus rose!”
Union Square’s Neighborhood Watch meeting and Easter meal were sweet and blessed. New and old faces were in attendance. We were happy to have candidate Jamey Johnson with us. He is running for circuit clerk for Coosa County. Let’s support him; he is qualified.
We are always happy to have Probate Judge Richard Dean sharing good news for our community. Commissioners Ronnie Joiner of District 4 and Brandon Davis of District 3 are always a plus to our meetings. They brought us some great information on the new trash/garbage pickup starting April 10. Please, residents, do what you need to do and stop griping.
Deputy Logan gave the monthly report. Union Square community had a clean bill of sale. We want to commend Sheriff Howell and his staff on jobs being well done, including Mayor Scott White’s participation in law enforcement.
Rockford’s new police officer is doing his job, and some people are complaining about the tickets being written up. That’s what he is there for – to enforce the law, and it is definitely needed. Whether it is out-of-town drivers or not, you will learn to be more careful and aware.
My niece was hit by a driver who didn’t stop at the 4-way stop there in Rockford, and nothing was done. She was hurt badly. So I say “Bravo” to the new officer, great deputies and Mayor White. Don’t worry about the complaints. Do your job and maybe we will do ours. We must work together and by the law.
I won’t call certain names, but one deputy of the force is serious about his work and not disregarding the others. I just noticed this particular one. No time for playing games.
Robin Schmidt won the door prize and made some good butter beans, and her husband did the ham like no one else can. It wasn’t too salty or too wet like some ham. I am not too much of a ham lover, but now I am. I did not know that ham could be that good!
Happy birthday, all April babies, and happy late birthday to my god furbaby, Jay II Cousin. When Jay II is off the leash he loves to sneak down to DHR and visit people. They know him there and have to call my friend to come get him or bring him home. He is friendly and so precious!
