Thomas Earl Abrams

 

Thomas Earl Abrams Sr., age 85, of Rockford, passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2023.

Thomas is survived by his son, Thomas E. “Tommy” Abrams Jr. (Susan); his son, Timothy R. Abrams (Kristy); and his son, Tony C. Abrams (Donna); his grandchildren, Joshua Abrams, Chase Abrams, Thomas King, Jessica Abrams, Treavor Abrams, and Carley Abrams. Thomas also leaves five great-grandchildren to cherish his memory.

Thomas was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Faye Nabors Abrams; his mother, Barcie Abrams; and his father, John W. Abrams; his brother, Eugene Abrams; and his sister, Margaret Abrams.

A visitation for Thomas was held Thursday, March 30, 2023, at Radney-Smith Funeral Home, Sylacauga, followed by the funeral service.

Thomas was laid to rest in Andrews Chapel Cemetery, Hanover.

Johnny Merrell Hardy

 

Funeral service for Mr. Johnny Merrell Hardy, 87, of Kellyton, was Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Randy Anderson officiated. Burial followed in the Hillview Memorial Park.

Mr. Hardy passed away on Friday, March 24, 2023, at Citizens Baptist Medical Center.  He was born on February 28, 1936, in Tallapoosa County to Maxel Alton Hardy and Emma Low White Hardy. He attended high school in Post, Texas, before joining the U.S. Army where he served his country overseas in Germany. Johnny enjoyed farming and took a lot of pride in being a caretaker of his land. He would go to various farm auctions and enjoyed buying old farm equipment and fixing it up. Johnny also loved to go bird hunting. He especially enjoyed working as a hunting guide at Five Star Plantation. Johnny loved his children and grandchildren and will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jerry L. Hardy of Kellyton; daughter, Jamie Wise (Randy) of Waco, Texas; son, Jason Hardy of Kellyton; grandchildren, Jackson Hardy of Kellyton and Jake Wise of Waco, Texas; and brother, Charles Hardy (Fran) of Boise, Idaho.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Billy Brandon Sellers Jr., M.D.

 

The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 1, 2023, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home.

Dr. B.B. Sellers passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at Russell Medical.  He was born on January 25, 1945, in Alexander City to Billy Brandon Sellers Sr. and Mary Joanna Ray Sellers.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sherry Myers Sellers; sons, Justin Sellers, Benjamin Sellers (Heather); daughter, Ann E. Sellers; grandchildren, Emily Katherine Sellers, Sampson Elijah Sellers, Scarlett Renee Sellers; sister, Nancy C. Scott (Fletcher); brother, Edgar R. Sellers (Melanie); and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Stephen Sellers.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice in honor of Dr. Sellers.
