The Buzz
Buzzy the Buzzard
Last night I had a dream about a stray dog. Lonely, hungry, pregnant…amazing how that happens. Some careless people made a few mistakes and another animal suffered.
I couldn’t go back to sleep. I got really worked up about the real problem in our community. Dennis and Debbie Hill, my heroes, brought us together and created an animal shelter. Now, we have to find a way to move forward with employees, not volunteers.
This means funding. So we can count out the County Commission. We need to reach higher. We need more expertise than we have available. We need to not be afraid to ask for help.
Other charities, like public radio, get funded by national endowments, corporate sponsorships and the deep pockets of government grants. Our legislature could reach out with emergency funding while other sources are developed.
It is NOT election season. Our representatives should be working for their constituents, free of political ideologies. I am your humble eye in the sky.
Love,
Buzzy
