I’ve always wondered what it would be like to live in a science fiction movie, and I’m beginning to think maybe that’s where I am! We have had UFOs flying all around the last couple of weeks, and I’ve been trying to decide if we were under attack or just under surveillance.
Attacks come in many forms so we really don’t know exactly what it’s been. Balloons and soda can shaped things flying over our military bases and sending information back to the Communist Chinese (and whoever else) has been very disconcerting!
I think about the old movies that my generation grew up with – “Mars Attacks,” “The Day the Earth Stood Still,” “War of the Worlds,” “The Day Mars Invaded Earth,” and many more! Even if we KNEW it wasn’t real, we always wondered if it could be or eventually would be. So, what were YOU thinking when you first heard there was this unknown giant balloon floating over our country? Did you think space aliens or military enemies? Were you waiting for bombs to fall or for it to land and release little tiny creatures?
This is 2023, and I know I expected that our government / military had a pretty good warning system for invasions in place. Now, I wonder. It would be nice to have heard something from our president about all of this rather than just some bureaucrats giving possible explanations but, as of the time I am writing this, that has not happened.
Is our government keeping secrets from us or do they not even know what is going on? Why weren’t we told about the balloon until it was already over America? How did it get here? Where did it come from? When did our government first KNOW about it?
I understand there are certain things that maybe the public doesn’t need to know details, but at least some general information would be really nice. I wonder if the civilians who saw the balloon hadn’t mentioned it would we have ever been told about it? Secrecy just makes me start envisioning all kinds of scenarios that may or may not be true. And sometimes truth is stranger than fiction.
Now that we pretty much know the balloon was from China, the excuses to not shoot it down over Alaska just don’t make sense. One reason I heard was that the water would be warmer in the Atlantic so they would wait. How did they KNOW it was heading for the Atlantic? Why was it allowed to fly over our most “secret” military bases? Regardless if most people accept it or not, China is our #1 adversary and opponent in political and military issues. This should NEVER have happened.
I have also wondered if these objects were to test our response before a possible attack. I’ve wondered if we didn’t respond because we didn’t want to show what we have. I’ve wondered if these “innocent” objects were sent to lull us into a false sense that nothing was going to happen – then at some point later be used to drop bombs or fire missiles. Our representatives and senators haven’t even been given transparency on these occurrences.
In one of the many seminars I went to on how politics work I learned to be careful of watching “bright, shiny” objects or things that pull my attention one way or the other. When that happens, we have taken our eyes off something really important that “they” don’t want us to notice.
So, are these being sent over to draw our attention away from a possible build up to invade Taiwan? Or to attack one of our allies? Who knows? Or, could it be to get us to stop looking at the invasion of our borders by looking at other possible invasions from the sky?
I do know I wish our elected officials were more interested in the security and protection of Americans and American properties. The superiority of our military should be the #1 priority of our government, but they are more interested in lowering the standards and bringing in the “woke” folks. We are doomed if this doesn’t get corrected.
Every branch of service in our armed forces is severely below their recruitment needs, but our government does not seem to be concerned. Again, I wonder if there is a “silent” program going on to make us a much weaker adversary to China, Russia, North Korea, and Iran.
Back in 2009 I got into the prepping movement and stocked (actually overstocked) food, water, batteries, ammunition, health care items, paper goods, etc. I’ve started considering this again, but with the costs of goods these days I’m not sure how much I want to do. COVID-19, the supply chain disruption, the unavailability of medical care, and not enough American-made goods should also be a wake up call for us. And, by the way, how much of these issues was China involved with?
I will have to say after watching the Super Bowl for the first time in years I am somewhat encouraged by the revival of some patriotism and return to some Christian values. Also, I wonder if the “death” and “resurrection” of Damar Hamlin on the football field wasn’t a sign from God that He can turn things around if we will just change our ways. The narrative of the NFL certainly changed that day!
For now, I’m going to keep waiting to hear something from the president of the United States, keep my eyes and ears open, listen for strange things going on, not plan any hot air balloon rides, and rewatch “Red Dawn” (the one with Patrick Swayze, of course). What are YOU going to do?
