Central JAG student brings home first place win at our first district competition

Students in Central’s newly created Jobs for Alabama Graduates (JAG) program attended the JAG District Career Development Conference at Marriott Hotel and Conference Center at Capitol Hill in Prattville this week. Students who volunteered to compete in one of three events were Grace Calee, Kamori Hoytt, Skylar Newman, Kali Snell, Makenna Sanders, and Kieasia Tuck. Central senior, Makenna Sanders, won first place in the Financial Literacy Competition for the entire southern region. Central JAG instructor, Debbie Phillips, said, “I am very proud of her and the other young ladies who competed in the events. All the competitors did an excellent job. This is history in the making for CHS!” Other JAG members attended workshops on subjects such as building your brand, conflict resolution and developing a solution to cyberbullying.
