Union Square News
Ruby Johnson
Union Square is still being blessed, despite the storm that destroyed some homes. However, God took care of them and their families.
Our prayers go out to all victims of the tornado, and we thank God for everyone who came out to help. Special thanks to Tim Taylor and Christa Jennings for looking out for us, and Pastor Jeff Fuller looks out for everybody, and we appreciate every kindness he and Lady Tina share to the community, including Union Square.
Let me thank the employees of the Coosa County Highway Department who worked so hard to clean up from the storm, working after hours in the dark, and all of the volunteers who came out and supported their neighbors. May God bless them all. A special shout out to my Butch. He is the best! Let’s not forget Oprah Winfrey for all that she does and for all people. She is one of the best there is.
Our prayers are with all victims of the storm; Union Square and Highway 9; the Browns on County Road 18; Terry and Ronda Dennis and family; Terry and Stephanie Robinson and family; Minister Sheldon Hutcherson and wife, Mrs. Rebecca, and his mother, Mrs Janice Moses; Deacon Bennie and Jackie Thomas; and Mr. George Louis Alexander and family. We give God all the glory for sparing and protecting His people.
Prayer list: The Johnson family, Fred and Mary May, Mrs. Joyce Taylor’s sister Delores and her granddaughter Gracie, Doris Hamilton, Chayce Days, and all churches and pastors.
Happy birthday to Standester Hill, Tasha Benson, Tonia Hill, Deacon Paul Burton, Al Days, and to all January babies.
Butch and I enjoyed a wonderful special Dr. Martin L. King Jr. Day on Monday, and we hope everyone else did, as well.
The devil is mad, knowing his days are short, and he is attacking leaders, preachers, loved ones, and whoever he can. But God is still in control. However, He is giving His people time to clean up what they have messed up. The songwriter says, “Clean up what we messed up.” God hasn’t messed up anything. He wants us to turn from our wicked ways, fight the devil with prayer and not on Facebook.
Too many people (said Christians) are fighting on Facebook while they should be praying and fasting. Some things only get clean through fasting. It clears your mind to think God’s way and not Facebook’s way.
Facebook is an addiction and no one is exempt, not anyone! Facebook has good information, two sides – a bad side and a good side. When people take the bad side that causes many problems. Then people begin to fight and disrespect each other, using Facebook for their platform.
We need to separate ourselves from that, the addiction. It is easy to pick up a habit, but hard to put it down, and that causes many other issues. Let’s get off of Facebook, and let’s face the Most High. He can stop all of this fighting and mess that goes on on Facebook.
But let’s do our part. Get off Facebook and get on your knees.
“You can be the calm or you can be the storm.”
