Central Elementary counselor Maegan Pope created the Christmas Angels program to bring Christmas to students in the Coosa County school system. Mrs. Pope connected with community leaders and business owners within our community to provide our families and students with additional support throughout the holidays. For Christmas, with the help of our community’s generous donations, we will be teaming with the Coosa County Sheriff’s Office and providing students with an opportunity to shop with a cop for Christmas. The donations received will be used to purchase shoes and socks for the students in need.
Thanks to Coosa County DHR, our children will also be blessed with gifts, clothing and items off of their Christmas wish list. More than 20 families within our district will be impacted by this positive cause. Mrs. Pope said, “I would like to personally thank Coosa County DHR and Coosa County Sheriff’s Office for their willingness to collaborate and partner with us this holiday season. I am overly excited and humbled by the outpouring of support.”
